I got the pho dac biet and I thought it was mid 3/5 but my partner's bun rieu with snail was really good 5/5 so I'm averaging out my review to a 4/5. Service was direct and attentive, no fluff waiters. Food arrived quickly too. We want to come back and try their other foods! Parking: free street parking or lot in the back ”

“ Here for dinner on a Saturday night but there was no wait. We got seated right away tucked in back of the restaurant. This is a family style restaurant but also has other single plate options. We ordered braised catfish in claypot, sweet and sour catfish soup, stir fried veggies, and shaking beef to share. Braised catfish was our favorite dish. The fish was braised to perfection. Drizzle some caramelized sauce over rice. It was so good. Catfish sweet and sour soup was good but it is on the sweet side which I am not a fan of. I wished it is a bit more sour. Shaking beef was not as good as I expect. It was not the tender beef cubes. It was over cooked with a chew but it has flavors. Came out on a good size plate but it is mainly water crest, bell peppers, and onions. Stir fried veggies was good with a crunch. Will definitely come back for braised catfish and the other dishes. ”

“ A hidden gem! This is my go to spot for Vietnamese family style. Their sets are the perfect amount even for just 2 people. Highly recommend calling to pre order if you're planning to get the catfish. Service is amazing and they accommodate big parties. ”

“ Sáu Can Tho Vietnamese Kitchen is known for its baked catfish. It also has a solid lunch menu of rice platters and noodles. Com Ca Kho To: In a metal pot, the braised catfish filets are caramelized for a sweet and savory flavor. The hot and tender meat flakes off easily with a buttery finish. I need to come back with more people and try the baked catfish with the whole wrap setup. ”

“ People come here for the baked catfish but they also make a very good Bahn Xeo (crispy crepe with prawns, pork, mung beans and sprouts). See pics for what I ate the other night. Not a fan of snails but the coconut sauce for the snails is very good and everything is good to pair with steamed rice. They make legit Vietnamese food and it looks like they have quite an array of proteins from goat to snails to frogs to even alligator. ”

“ I LOVE this place! It's run by a family and you always are greeted with such warmth! I've now been here three times with by boyfriend and we always aim to try something new, and we are never disappointed. Everything is made with love (often by the owners or their parents) and taste simply delicious! The place is small and charming, with fun Vietnamese decor. If you're new to Vietnamese food, I would suggest doing the family set's. They have one for as small as 2 people. That would be a great (and delicious) intro to Vietnamese food. This place is a must try! You'll instantly become a regular. ”

“ Mid to small restaurant/ cafe that specializes in Southern Vietnamese dishes. The place feels family owned and the folks here are super nice and helpful. I had this place on one of my list, but decided to come here because I was craving Viet food and it was cold and rainy and wanted something warm and comforting. This place has been on one of my lists and actually visited twice in a few days. Was craving pho, but saw some bo luc lac (shaking beef) on the menu and ordered that. Came back for the warm, comforting pho a couple of days later. I was dining solo after work, so their lunch/ cafe menu was perfect for me. They have a more extensive, banquet/ family meal style menu that I didn't even look at because there's no way I could have ordered a lot. I think the food here is great and it hit the spot for sure. The shaking beef was very well cooked and the rice was great. The pho broth was clean and tasty and was exactly what I needed in that moment. I think this restaurant is great and I didn't even get to try what they really specialize in and that's the baked fish. Maybe someday...when I come back with family and/or friends. I came during the week and it wasn't busy at all. Street parking right outside was easy to find. ”

“ I came with a few friends on a Sunday at lunch around 11:30 and it was pretty empty. It quickly filled up by the time we finished our meal. It's more of a casual mom and pop vibe. We tried this spot for the sweet and sour fish soup hot pot. The flavor of the soup was good. And the hot pot feature kept the soup hot, which really brought it to the next level. I personally was not a fan of some of the assortment of vegetables in the soup. But still really enjoyed it. We also tried this fried noodle dish with gravy. I wasn't a fan of some of the toppings but the gravy was very flavorful. We also ordered a basic rice dish with the egg meatloaf, pork skin, and pork. It was ok but I wouldn't come here for the rice dish. The service was great and the server was very tentative when we asked for extra sauce plates and came by for water refills. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and it was a good experience. I just had some different preferences for some of the dishes. ”

“ Looking back on my Yelp journey, Sáu Can Tho was the second place I ever reviewed back in 2018. After all this time, moving across the country and around California, traveling and dining with foods from all over the world, this place remains a 5-Star experience! I try to stay out of LA as much as I can because I hate the damn traffic, but Sáu Can Tho is worth the trek! I've definitely gone out of my way to treat my taste buds and belly, as well as introduce friends and family to delicious food! I'm salivating now just thinking about it! I have never had a bad experience here, and I've eaten plenty. As mentioned in my previous review, my dad was a professional chef, and the food here tastes both gourmet and like home cooking. This placed originated the baked catfish, and it is so juicy, tender, and flavourful! You can't really go wrong here with any of the food! Oh, and if you like Vietnamese coffee, then get ready to say, "Ooh!" and "Mmh!" I'm not even a coffee drinker, but I had two glasses of this stuff with my dinner yesterday. There is both street parking and a parking lot in the back. The service here is excellent! All the staff members are very attentive and friendly, even offering some history on the dishes when they are not slammed. Additionally, it's obviously a family-owned restaurant, and you will see kids walking around. We all know that I love the local feels and supporting small businesses! Come eat, bring all your peeps, and live your best lives! ”
